Lawrence Stanberry, MD, PhD, est professeur de pédiatrie et doyen associé des programmes internationaux à la Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. De 2008 à 2018, il a occupé le poste de professeur Reuben S. Carpentier et président du département de pédiatrie à VP&S ainsi que pédiatre en chef de l’Hôpital pour enfants Morgan Stanley de NewYork Presbyterian. De 2000 à 2008, il a été professeur distingué John Sealy et président du département de pédiatrie et directeur du Sealy Center for Vaccine Development à l’Université du Texas Medical Branch à Galveston. Avant de rejoindre la faculté de Galveston, il était professeur Albert B. Sabin de pédiatrie et directeur de la division des maladies infectieuses au Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center et à l’Université de médecine de Cincinnati.
Il est une autorité en développement de vaccins et en maladies virales. Ses travaux récents se sont concentrés sur l'hésitation vaccinale et sur les soins de santé pédiatriques en Afrique subsaharienne. Il a rédigé plus de 200 articles et chapitres scientifiques et est l’auteur ou l’éditeur de six livres, dont "Vaccines for Biodefense and Emerging and Neglected Diseases, London, Elsevier (2009)" et "Viral Infections of Humans: Epidemiology and Control" (5e édition 2014, 6e édition 2022).

Lawrence Stanberry, MD, PhD is Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Dean for International Programs at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. From 2008 to 2018 he was the Reuben S. Carpentier Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at VP&S and Pediatrician–in-Chief of the NewYork Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. From 2000 to 2008, he was the John Sealy Distinguished Professor and Chairman of Pediatrics and Director of the Sealy Center for Vaccine Development at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Prior to joining the faculty in Galveston, he was the Albert B. Sabin Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center and University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
He is an authority on vaccine development and viral diseases. His recent work has focused on vaccine hesitancy and on pediatric healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa. He has authored over 200 scientific articles and chapters and is the author or editor of six books including, “Vaccines for Biodefense and Emerging and Neglected Diseases, London, Elsevier (2009)”, and “Viral Infections of Humans: Epidemiology and Control,” (5th edition 2014, 6th edition 2022).
